OMMMMMMMGGGGG guys, Hello Kitty Con is next week!
I’m pretty excited (if that wasn’t obvious).
Guess who else is going to be at Hello Kitty Con? You may remember her from my Lolita stories. That’s right — the one and only Kawaii Ambassador Misako Aoki! It’s kind of weird because even though I spent an entire day with her, she almost doesn’t seem like a real person. There are even cute-sounding tea events with Misako — there’s Hello Kitty’s Spooky Cute Lolita Tea and Hello Kitty Birthday Breakfast Tea. You don’t need a Hello Kitty Con ticket to attend the tea events! (But they cost $40.)
There’s also the Hello Kitty Hungry Hunt — restaurants around LA have Hello Kitty-themed food (HELLO KITTY-THEMED FOOD!) and are giving out Hello Kitty pins. The site says:
From October 24, 2014 through November 21, 2014, visit participating foodie venues around town and enjoy a special limited edition Hello Kitty themed food or beverage item created for this special occasion. All participating restaurants offer something delicious and exclusive!
Each Hungry Hunt menu item includes a small gift: a collectible Hello Kitty Hungry Hunt enamel pin featuring Hello Kitty enjoying a culinary treat. The menu items and pins are exclusive to each location and available for a super limited time while supplies last.
I’m also going to a couple of the workshops (Hello Kitty Spam Musubi!) and really looking forward to the Hello Kitty exhibit at the Japanese American National Museum.
