I love visiting aquariums! I mean, what’s not to like? They’re full of cute sea creatures and they’re indoors (unlike zoos). While we were in Seoul, we visited Coex Mall, in which is Coex Aquarium (코엑스 아쿠아리움). Apparently, it’s “one of South Korea’s largest aquariums with over 40,000 creatures from over 650 species on display.” (Thanks, Wikipedia!) I feel like I’ve been to a lot of aquariums (if a city has one, I’ll usually go) and the Coex Aquarium is one of the more interesting ones I’ve seen.
A Coke vending machine with fish inside! There’s a whole area of the aquarium with weird fish tanks like this.
Every self-respecting aquarium includes a underwater tunnel.
Why not fill your fish tank with weird Korean decorations?
Sometimes (okay, most of the time) aquariums make me hungry. Alas, this crab was not for eating.
Neither was this guy, but he doesn’t look quite as tasty.
Random but cute and fuzzy non sea creatures.
Pretty neon jellyfish.
So yeah, Coex Aquarium. Worth a visit if you happen to find yourself in Coex Mall, or if you really like aquariums. It would be a good rainy day activity, because most of the fun stuff in Seoul is outdoors.
