The Houhai area was really close to our hotel in Beijing. Houhai is a lake and it’s surrounded by lots of restaurants, shops, and bars. It’s very pretty and a nice area for strolling around.

Starbucks in China. Other than the Chinese decor, pretty much the same as Starbucks everywhere else in the universe.

Lots of restaurants and bars with patios overlooking the lake — this area would be really nice in the summertime.

 Yeah, I don’t know.

Zillions of rickshaw drivers offering rides and hutong tours.

Pretty, right?

Wandering around in the area with all the shops.

This store only sold panda goods!

A fake Paul Smith bag. It was around $100, but the real thing is over $1000.

Houhai at night

The streets are lined with bars. Drinks were very cheap, maybe a dollar or two.

Weirdly enough, every single bar had couches. Everywhere, couches! No booths or chairs, just couches. Including outside.

Goodnight, Houhai!
