asia adventure: ovolo hong kong

In Hong Kong, we stayed at the Ovolo Noho, which is part of the Ovolo chain of hotels. For a fairly cheap hotel (I think we paid around $160 a night), it was really great. It’s exactly the kind of hotel I like (boutique style, small, modern) and the location (Central) was excellent. Yes, the rooms are tiny, but I’m used to that and more than fine with it. The hotel has a happy hour every day with free (alcoholic!) drinks, free breakfast, and free wifi. The rooms also come with adorable little “loot bags” AND¬†everything in the minibar is free.

Small but comfortable bed. The room also has two things I really like in hotel rooms: non-carpeted floor, and OUTLETS on both sides of the bed! Mike and I have a lot of gadgets.

Cute bag and good for laundry!

Malin + Goetz toiletries in the bathroom.

Everything in the minibar is free and replenished daily!

Water, juice, beer, and Coke in glass bottles.

The loot bag is a nice touch.

Snacks and mints you can take sightseeing with you.

Love the mug.

Another thing I love in a hotel: FREE LAUNDRY. You know I travel with only a carry-on, so I’m always happy to find self-service laundry. (Getting your clothes laundered through the hotel is $$$$$$$$$$.)

And in the morning, free breakfast.

I suggest going light on the breakfast since you’re in Hong Kong and really should be eating dim sum. But Mike can rarely resist some eggs and potatoes and bacon.

For the price point, this was one of my favourite hotels that I’ve ever stayed at — everything was well-designed, everything was free, the staff was nice, and the location was perfect. Thumbs up emoji for Ovolo Hotels.
